Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus to Present Messiah Sing-Along!
Event to take place Monday November 23rd, at 7:30 pm at St. Stephen’s Church,
2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072
BUFFALO N.Y., November 1, 2009 -- The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus invites music lovers, friends, singers, choral directors and teachers for an evening with Handel’s most-loved masterpiece. Doreen Rao will lead a lively and informative rehearsal-style Messiah, teaching and conducting Messiah choruses with solo arias and continuo. Featured soloists for the Messiah Sing-Along Rehearsal will be sopranos Leah Schneider and Susan Gawley, Natalia Kojanova , alto, John Regan, tenor and David Gordon, bass. Susan Schuman will be the keyboardist and Bryan Eckenrode, cellist.
Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food to benefit the Grand Island Neighbors Foundation. A free will offering will be appreciated. Singers may bring a copy of Messiah or reserve a copy to buy for $10.
